Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of nostalgic.cards and any products you buy from us. By subscribing or placing an order, you agree to them. Short, plain-English, written by a human. Contact: hello@nostalgic.cards.

Who we are

Nostalgic Cards is a small family-run side business operating out of Washington state in the United States. Packed by hand in our kitchen, often with help from a very enthusiastic 8-year-old.

What we sell

  • Monthly subscription boxes— Starter ($19.99), Collector ($34.99), or Grail Hunter ($59.99). Each box contains authentic Pokémon trading cards from the original 1999 Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil expansions. Condition is primarily Heavily Played to Near Mint, with a condition mix specific to your tier.
  • Complete-set binders — one-time purchases of a full vintage set (Base Set, Jungle, or Fossil) assembled in a 9-pocket zipper binder.

All cards sold are authentic originals from The Pokémon Company / Wizards of the Coast. They have been held by previous owners and are not in mint packaging. We describe the expected condition honestly on our site and tier page. Nostalgic Cards is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc., Game Freak, or Wizards of the Coast. “Pokémon” is used as a descriptive term for the products we sell.

Subscriptions

Billing

  • Subscriptions bill monthly, on the same calendar day you signed up, until canceled.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • All prices are in USD. Sales tax is added where required.

Cancellation, pausing, and changes

  • Cancel or pause any time from nostalgic.cards/account. Two clicks, no phone call, no retention flow.
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access (and receive your next box) through that period.
  • Switching tiers (e.g. Starter → Collector) takes effect on your next billing cycle. No proration games.

Refunds

  • Because every box contains unique pre-owned cards we select and photograph by hand, we do not offer returns on monthly boxes once they ship.
  • If a box arrives damaged or materially different from the pre-ship photo we provide, email us within 14 days and we’ll make it right — replacement, partial refund, or account credit at your preference.
  • If you’re billed in error (duplicate charge, post-cancellation charge), we refund in full, no questions.
  • Complete-set binders are returnable within 30 days if unopened and the binder is sealed with our tamper-evident sticker intact.

Referrals

  • Every subscriber gets a referral code shown on their account page.
  • When a friend signs up using your code, they get 25% off their first month.
  • When that friend reaches their second paid month, you receive $5 in account credit applied to your next invoice.
  • Credit is for Nostalgic Cards purchases only. No cash value, can’t be transferred between accounts, doesn’t expire while your account is active.
  • Self-referrals, spam, or fraudulent signups result in forfeiture of credit + possible account suspension.

Your account

  • Keep your email address current — we use it to reach you about shipping, billing, and any issues.
  • Don’t share your account credentials. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that engage in fraud, chargeback abuse, or attempts to break our infrastructure. We’ll email you first if we can.

Pricing changes

If we change tier pricing, existing subscribers are notified by email at least 30 days in advance. You can cancel before the new price takes effect if it doesn’t work for you.

Card authenticity disclaimer

We vouch for every card’s authenticity. If you ever receive a card you believe is counterfeit, email us with the photo from the manifest and we’ll refund the card + your entire box as a goodwill gesture — no questions.

Limitations of liability

Nostalgic Cards is provided “as is.” We do our best to send accurate descriptions, accurate pricing, and boxes that match your tier — but we’re a small side business, not a Fortune 500 retailer. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to your use of the site, a subscription, or a product is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that can’t be legally limited (gross negligence, fraud, personal injury, etc.).

Changes to these terms

We’ll email active subscribers if we make a material change. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by emailing us and talking through it shall be brought in King County, Washington.
